Treatment modalities for the burn-injured patient are ever changing. Treatment plans are based on multiple factors, such as burn size and depth, burn location, patient age, and pre-existing health conditions. No two patients are alike and the plan of care can change hour to hour and day to day based on the current physical assessment of the patient. This session will touch on the factors that dictate the care provided to a burn patient, as well as the current trends in burn care treatment. Followup care and required hospital readmissions will briefly be discussed, also.
